If everyone had stopped buying gas for one weekend or even a week, the gas price would drop a few cents. If we're lucky, may be $1. wow, that would be nice. We need a national day of no driving. imagine how much time you could excersice or spend with the family. Why not?????

  1. If only.  It doesn't work that way.  Where does everyone keep getting these crazy ideas from?  Does everybody have some crazed professor putting these ideals in their heads?

No offense kid, but that wouldn't cause gas to drop, it would probably cause an increase in gas prices.

  2. Im going to play devils advocate here, but you know gas where I live is $3.40 gallon, which is on the low end nationwide.  Now imagine this,   Most of Europe pays over $8.00 gallon, Bosnia is the most expensive @ 10.86/gallon.

Now think that out of 155 countries around the would in a survey that US is 111, 1 most expensive and 155 cheapest.

Suddenly $3-$4/gallon doesnt sound bad, Id much rather pay $4/gallon than $10.

All these schemes, like dont buy mobil, or dont buy gas on friday, or dont drive this weekend, nothing is going to drop gas, the only thing that matters is right now barrell is $122, and thats based on fears of supply, not buying gas for 1-3 days isnt going to drop it a significant amount.

Also to all the people that wait at the gas station for 1/2 hour cuz its 5 cents cheaper, I only spent 1 more dollar then you and got to where I was headed, while you sit there and burn gas and get worked up over someone stealling your spot.  Just wanted to put that in there.

  3. that wouldn't work. we'd need a significant drop in gasoline usage (10% or so, at least) for a considerable amount of time (6 months or more). ironically, high gas prices are about the only thing that can get people to drive less, so when prices go down, people will drive more. and $1? are you high? i'd be amazed if we ever saw a national average under $2.50 again

  4. That wouldnt work at all! Plus, everyone needs to realize our supply of gas is dimenishing, the United States only has enough fuel for us to be completely dependent for about 3 years so you should really re-focus your energy on setting an example by driving feul efficent cars, walking, taking public transportation and educating people on environmental issues we are facing instead of trying to boycott!

  5. It wouldn't really work.

Some people have to work and travel during the weekend.
