Alright, i have a 1200W amp hooked up to my 2 subs my trunk, and i want to have another 4 channel amp to power my 4 interior speakers, all aftermarket w/ the aftermarket deck. and i was wondering if i have to hook up another power cord to the battery or can i just split the power cord being used? the amp i have in the back right now has pre-amp outs if that helps at all >.<

  1. I'd run a heavier gauged wire to the under the hood power distribution centre or fuse box main terminal feed inside the fuse box. Then I'd run that wire to a power junction and use a 25 amp fuse on each stereo feed going to it.Plus I'd use 6 gauge positive feed for both stereos and be sure the two main grounds went to a solid new ground under hood or under dash or to the neg battery post via proper o-ring wire terminal connectors and fresh clean grounds.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the solid and good positive and negative connections are critical to any system , so take the extra time and money and patience to be sure all wires are solidly connected and have a proper hookup fuse , wire gauges etc.

  2. what is the Power wire gage?

the fuse size might need to go up

  3. I have two in my truck running off one line. I have the second one bridged to the first one. Just make sure the line is big enough.

  4. Go to the whatever store you purchase you audio supplies for and ask them for a wireing kit to run two amps...They sell everything you need in one package with the distribution block and all the necassary wires, at the right guage..

  5. You can split the power wire with a distribution block. Something like this would work well. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_9025...

  6. ya jus get a distribution block.

  7. It'll work with a distribution block as long as your power wire is capable of handling the amount of power you amps are putting out.....

If not, you can either, run another power wire from the battery for the new amp, or you can run a whole new wire that can handle the total amount of power you need.....
