Is it possible to create a man-made atmosphere?

like say we deplete earths resources and humanity has to move to another planet, can we create a life sustainable atmosphere like here on earth?

Yes.

Though it would take a lot of effort and energy. It is possible.

A modern day example is a submarine. Everything in a submarine is encapsulated by  a water-tight steel hull. But the sailors in there can breath, eat, cook, and f**t just like they are out side. How?

They create a mini atmosphere inside the submarine.

Albeit a little more difficult to make a planet-size atmospher generator, if they can do it now inside a submarine.... they can do it anywhere, even the moon or other planets.  If there is enough hydrogen, carbon, oxygen, and nitrogen etc.. available on a planet, then supporting life and producing an earthlike atmospher is possible.

Earth's atmosphere without the influence of modern humanity occurred naturally as part of its many cycles and evolved into its life giving atmosphere we all know. Most of earths phases didn't have this life giving atmosphere. To create this it took billions of years and just the right combonations of sequenced events. To ask man to do the same,would be a miracle.

Possible.  Thats a pretty sloppy concept.  Like a million years from now?  It must be possible because it is not impossible.  In fact we are doing a pretty good job in converting this planet's atmosphere to a man-made one.  You probably know what the predictions are for the next 100 years, just think what we'll have done in a thousand or ten thousand.  (Assuming extinction is not our epitaph)

By the way, we do NOT know how to create the conditions for a stable breathable atmosphere.  All of our attempts have failed.  We just don't (we think) know enough.  So, if the world were going to end in a year, could we colonize Mars or Titan?  Not likely, but never say never.
