Is it possible to create a portal to travel locally?

I was wondering if it is possible to create a portal where a person could just simply go in and come out on the other side of the portal as if we are inside our house and go out using the door..If possible then there would be no more flying from one place to another unless we want to go out of the country..

Yes, just install a door.

If you mean teleportation, like the Transporter on Star Trek, then it is not currently possible and extremely unlikely.  Some people suggest quantum teleportation as a hopeful sign, but it transports a quantum state, not matter or energy.  Political borders would be irrelevant to any such technology.
