  1. Yes, conures can breed within their species. A Sun conure and a jenday conure mixed together is called a Sunday conure.

There is however, a debate on ethics of cross breeding. the offspring can look identical to either parent, or a cross in between and look completely different. but lets say that you breed a sun conure to a jenday and get sunday babies. One of the babies looks just like a sun conure. The person who gets that baby doesnt know its a sunday, and breeds it to a sun conure, and sells those babies as sun conures. Now, theres a pollution factor. The problem with cross breeding is it does not occur in the wild, so doing it at home is seen by most avian enthusiasts as mucking with nature, or playing God. It becomes a big problem with the more endangered species, like some of the macaws... if there is so much hybrid blood out there, how can we be sure we are breeding pure hyacinths, or greenwings, etc, and not hybrids? What happens if the species goes extinct in the wild and we cant find enough VERIFIABLE full blooded specimens to reintroduce the species? Essentially, it  can lead to extinction of a pure species.

My advise would be to enjoy your two lovely conures, or if you are intent on breeding, purchase verifiable pure specimens as mates for them. Good luck!
