I'll probably get there around May 18th. I'll be in Argentina for half a month, and I thought it would be fun to see a little into Chile, but I'm not sure if it's even possible at all.

  1. Maybe, but I don't really think so. The mountains in Santiago are getting white. But go there you will have fun, and I agree with the other guy EAT SEAFOOD is the best in the world, everyone knows that. I miss Chile :(

  2. I would think its possible.  Chances are you won't have snow yet or if there is they blade the road very quickly.  You'll be able to find out road conditions in Mendoza.

It's a long gradual climb from the Argentine side and a great series of switchbacks on the Chileno side.  Then a fairly quick drive into Santiago or down on the coast to La Serena or Valpo for great sea food.
