I recently took photos at my wedding and I wanted to surprise my wife with a picture canvas for Christmas. We took a picture with our digital camera and I need to order the picture before time runs out. The professional pictures will not be in for a while. Anyway, the point is our picture looks beautiful, however we have people in the background. Can I cut us out of the picture and paste it into another background?

  1. You definitely can! I actually do this type of work for a living :)

You will need a photo editing software to do it though. The most professional software is called Photoshop and it makes cutting people out of pictures very simple.

Most computers now come with bundled software that allow you to cut and paste people on to different backgrounds.

It's actually a simple project and I'm sure you know someone who owns Photoshop. Just ask some artsy computer savvy friends and have them do it for you.

The only hard part is getting the lighting correct to match the subject and the background but that can be taken care of by someone who has a little bit of a knowledge of art.

If you want to see the kind of graphic work I can do check out my website: www.PoisonApple.com. I don't know how many hundreds of people I've had to cut out, lol.

    Hope that helps!

  2. Yes possible using photoshop.

Using the Magnetic Lasso tool you can easily select the portion of your image from the image and crop it. Thne You can simply paste on a different background (Brightness adjust is suggested anyway).

  3. I would suggest that you have a professional do it for you.

It is trickier than it looks, and it's easy to get a bad result.

    It's worth the $$'s
