Does anyone know if researchers can differentiate between learned and innate behaviour in cross cultural studies or family therapy ?

  1. This is more of a sociology question.

Is there a difference between socially learned behavior and instinctual behavior?

A question that sociologists still wrangle over. Studies, yes conclusions, maybe.

  2. Innate behavior is behavior like taking a c**p on the ground.

learned behavior is squatting over a hole in the floor (in the far or maybe middle east), or crapping on a seat as in most North American countries.  Extrapolate!

  3. One would expect a cultural behavior would be found throughout that culture but would be absent in others. An innate behavior would be found throughout the human race.

Staying with the toilet theme, many cultures in the Middle East eat with just their right hand. The left is considered 'unclean" and used for cleaning oneself. Other cultures don't have this.
