  1. Anything is possible. it is extremely difficult for most students, though, to achieve this without sacrificing in other aspects of your life. decide what is most important to you and devote your time and energy accordingly, but try to keep everything in perspective. family and friends are important and deserve time as well. good luck in all you strive for.

  2. possible, but extremely challenging. You will have no social life. All you will be able to do is study, exercise, and practice.

  3. Definitely. I was the second best all-around athlete in my fairly large school (4A) football, basketball, baseball. I was the first to get a varsity letter (10th grade - tennis). I had a 3.27 gpa and once noticed a straight "A" student cheating off me. The reason my gpa wasn't higher was that I refused to do homework. When confronted by my Spanish teacher about why, I asked her if there was anyone close to me in the class and if homework wasn't to re-inforce the teachings of that day. (I was very active and drained every iota of information out of all my teachers during class). She relented and apparently talked to the other teachers (all of whom had given me Cs and Ds that semester) who all came around, except one - my World History/"fantasy?" teacher, until the last semester - "Americanism vs. Communism" (apples and oranges). I was offered a full combination athletic/scholastic scholarship to Princeton in the 11th grade. My PSAT and NMSQT scores were extremely high. Later I became a musician, BTW, guitar, keyboards, drums, bass.

Edit: Just read the other postings. A case could be made that I had a stilted social life in some respects - I was a "Jock" to the "Nerds clique" and a "Nerd" to the "Jocks clique" - but only to the shallow ones (cliques) from both sides. You could also say that I was a jock with nerd friends and a nerd with jock friends, if you wanted. I was friends with the best from each side and most of the others. I never have liked stereo-types (cliques) and this relates to that deeply.

  7. It is very possible.

I play piano and sing, specifically Arias from Operas.  I have placed in state competitions.

I have a 4.1 cumulative GPA and will be entering my senior year.

I am Varsity golf co-captian this year, and my team has been region champs 3 years in a row. I was also a region all-star.

In my free-time I have a part time job and volunteer at my church and local nursing homes.

It is all about what you can handle, but trust me it you set your mind too anything, you can do it.

  8. Yes, you can do well in all.  It requires the ability to manage time well.  You can't put things off.  You have to be dedicated.  You also have to enjoy everything that you are involved in.  I've watched my daughter do it so I know that you can do it as well.
