Is it possible to download update files of any anti-virus separately?

Hi,

I'm using Kaspersky Anti Virus KAV-7. My question might seem to be a bit illogical.But,yet,I want to know if it is possible to download update of Virus definition and other related updates of any anti-virus software (particularly KAV) separately (ie not by applying Update option in the installed AV) and keep those update files so that the update can be applied offline to any installed AV of the same vendor to make it up-to-date while being off line.

Plz help.

Don't bother, its not usually possible because its not usually necessesary.

Some have a facility to update from file instead of internet, this would do it for you, but this is often only available on the more expensive commercial versions as it is designed for server based systems..
