Is it possible to drink alcohol in moderation while on Lexopro?

I've just recently been put on lexapro and am wondering if it's possible to drink but in moderation i.e. 1-2 alcopops as opposed to having a beer or wine. I asked my doctor and he said in moderation, just don't binge drink. Can anyone else please share stories because I am getting a bit stressed out about this as my 18th is next week.

You can't get drunk....other than that...a "few" meaning two is fine.  Oh the lexapro enhances alcohol.

Being on a antidepressant like that will make you drunker faster, which can lead to problems, and also it is metabolized in the liver like alcohol and can end up destroying your liver.  If you do decide to drink be very careful, don't have more than a couple or do it more than a couple times a month.  A couple drinks every once in a while should be okay just make sure you are prepared to be drunk, not just buzzed after a couple and that you get your liver checked out every once in a while.
