According to Google Maps, it's about 500 miles. That should be easily doable, right?

  1. My friends took them about 9 hours drove to New York city.

  2. My parents and I used to drive to Buffalo, NY quite often (from Toronto.) It's right across the border, so it took exactly 2 hours. But, if you want to go to New York city, that will be a longer trip. It's possible, but it'll be a long day.

  3. ya

  4. yes! i,ve done it with my family before! its about a 11 hour drive... it is very tiering though and you must stop on the way!

  5. You should maybe be more specific in your question. What city within New York ??

Toronto to New York City  789 km – about 8 hours 15 mins

From Toronto to Buffalo is 158 km – about 1 hour 46 mins .

Don't forget proper ID's and Documentation such as Passports, photo ids, birth certificates. The border is getting more and more strict by the day. If you do not have a passport and you plan to do lots of traveling between borders, GET ONE ASAP, avoid the upcoming Passport rush. You may also be eligible for a NEXUS card which makes border crossings really easy.

Starting June 1, 2009, Canadian citizens will be required to present a valid passport, a NEXUS card, or other acceptable document when seeking to enter the United States. Canadian citizens 15 years of age and under will only require proof of citizenship. Canadian citizens 18 years of age and under, who are traveling in approved adult-supervised groups, may also present proof of citizenship alone.

  6. yes you can drive less then 12 hrs to reach.

  7. It is, but it will be a long drive, approximately 10+ hours, since you have to take a detour ("west" through the Niagara Falls area) to make your way to New York City.
