Is it possible to fail the WSI (Water Safety Instructor) course other than not showing up for a few classes?

  1. yes, the instructor makes everyone swim 50-100m of all 4 strokes, so if you cannot moderately do each stroke, you might not pass

    However, as long as you can swim, the course is a breeze


  2. yes, i just took the class and it is fairly easy.

    you only have to swim the strokes ONCE!! and you have to be able to demonstrate them at a level 4 status

    which you have to swim

    front crawl, back crawl, sidestroke, breaststroke, and the elementary back crawl 25 yards

    and then the butterfly 15 yards

    then in the class you do some teaching excersizes with the class where you are given a lesson to teach and then you have to create a lesson plan then teach it to your class.

    you will go over water safety practices and watch videos

    and the final test is 50 questions long and you can only get 10 wrong.

    There is no study guide, but my instructor made us one, everything on it is on the test so please if you need it just send me a message.
