I have the opportunity to get a bearded dragon, but really don't want to keep crickets and other insects in the house. Could I feed them something in place of bugs?

  1. They need insects as a major part of their diet. Check out the bearded dragon care vids in the source link before you get one. Good luck!

  2. i've got a friend who feeds his all sorts of things from pinky mice to lettuce, h**l even bread when he's broke. bearded dragons eat a whole array of things, but i would try to find a good site before you try feeding it anything too outlandish.

besides, crickets smell horrible, meal worms hatch into moths and depending on who you are, a pinky might seem cruel. hamburger meat i think is ago, but like i said, you should research it first.

  3. No - if you want your dragon to be healthy you have to feed it insects that it would naturally eat, not processed meats.

Plus of course daily fresh greens.

  4. You can feed it veggies or they also have canned crickets if you don't want the live bugs in your house also if it is big enough bearded dragon they can eat pinkie mice just ask the pet store for them

  5. Not really bearded dragons can only eat plants and insects, however you can use supplements for your beardy if you do not like the idea of insects within the home. A useful website to buy these supplements is http://www.petsparade.co.uk/reptiles/sup...

If not contact your vet for infomation on types of supplements

  6. No...I think they  can only eat insects and greens..
