Since my hubby and I have been married for a year (civil), and been together for 3 years. I thought it might be nice to get married here in our house(we have a lot of land) have the priest come, then have a small gathering. Its just not the same anymore to have a huge wedding, since we've been living together for years.

But I heard somewhere that catholic priests don't believe in marrying couples outside the church is that true? are there any websites where you can find priests?

  1. You may think this isn't real, but I checked it out... try here, if nothing else it will make you smile...

  2. Unless there are serious extenuating circumstances, a Catholic marriage must take place within a church.

Please ignore the rent-a-priest thing, they are not recognized by the RC Church.

However, since you are already married, that means you aren't looking to be married again. It's possible that you may be able to get a blessing. Go talk to your parish priest about this.

  3. In order for a wedding to be recognized you must have precana lessons and be active in the church

    I assume you aren't

  4. I guess you are unfamiliar with Canon law.    Catholics cannot marry anywhere but in a sanctified place of worship.   A church, a rectory, etc.    No garden weddings, no home weddings, no weddings in hotels, or Disneyland.

    No priest will do it.
