I am looking for a woman from California who legally changed her name roughly around 1992-1994 when she was released from prison. How could I go about discovering what her new name is? Any help is greatly appreciated.

  1. Usually when someone is released from prison they have a probation officer. You might check with the county she lived in, the probation office, and see if they have a record of the name change. You could also contact the county court and ask if the name change occured there.

  2. Check with the county Court Houses as it is in the public records.  Each state has a data base where you can access the different counties and do a name search.  Some Counties you may have to pay for - others are free.
