Question:

Is it possible to gain muscle while loosing fat i dont like to lift light when cutting because it dont work. ?

i recently hurt my rotator cuff and and because of it i toke a month off of training. at the time i weighted in about 250 pounds. its been a month since the problem. i know i have lost some muscle and i am pissed for it. i now way 240 pounds and have a bodt fat percentage of 16 to 17. i want to star to cut fat because of the gut that i have. dont get me wrong or any thing but i have gotten alot stronger lately squat 355 increased, got back to my original dead lifting weight 430p, shruging 555p, bench increased 5 pounds 285. 155 pound preacher curl. i dont use steroids.

  2. As you should just be concerned with just looking at dropping body fat, then yes.

    Continue to do light to moderate cardio - typically in the morning.  You will have to be even more critical of your diet in this phase or your efforts will become skewed - either mass gain which will include some fat or fat loss accompanied by some lean mass.

    Keep a close eye on you macro nutrient ratio.  Depending on when you workout, taper you calorie intake as well as your carb intake from morning to night.

    As long as your shoulder is back to full strength, keep lifting heavy as the more muscle mass that you put on, the more fat you will burn throughout the day.  Keep feeding your body every 3-4 hours and you should see a steady decline.
