I am trying to Do the CCNA in 30 Days. I have basic networking knowledge. I have been in I.T. for about 6 years. Mostly hardware and software stuff. I am also planing on taking a CCNA 5 day boot camp right before the test. However I am trying to go over the book and be ready before I take the boot camp.

What is the best way to study for this test?

Has anyone done this in such a short time? Please share if you made it.

Thank you in advance.

  1. What type of work do you do in IT?

I began with no networking background, took formal classes and had my CCNA in under a year. Depending on your line of work, this may or may not be an easy exam.

Are you experienced with VLANs, STP, VLSM, EIGRP/OSPF, and ACLs? If so, that is the bulk of the exam. They have recently added Wireless and IPv6 to the exam and may require additional study if you are not familar with it.

I would reccomend some CBTNuggets training or Sybex books if you just need some directional training, but if you work in this environment, 30 days should be plenty of time.

Good luck, aim for the 1000/1000 =)

  2. You should go to the Cisco forums for information, lots of people there know a lot about CCNA training etc and can give you good advice on any questions and books/things to study, here's a link:
