So I got my period on August 26th lasted 3-4 days on a 26 day cycle. I have pretty regular cycles but not sure how well im am ovulating after taking bc pills. I took an opk this morning cd6 and got a really strong test line. then i took one later on in the day and it was light. I should mention I started taking the vitex tincture cd1. I dont know if that could produce a false positive. Could I have ovulated this quickly. I am not due to ovulate till the 7th or 8th of Sept. I am so confused and stressed over this that I could have ovulated less than 2 days after my period. I would greatly appreciate any answers on this even if your not sure and maybe you have heard something. Me and my hubby want so badly to conceive and now I have no idea whats going on. I do chart bbt but to me its confusing and i dont even know if im doing it right.

  1. If you got a test line that was as dark or darker than the control, then get busy just incase.

That said, I ALWAYS test twice a day. Once around 10 or 11 a.m. and then again at 5 or 6 p.m.  Sometimes your lh surge can be very short - a positive earlier in the day and a negative a few hours later is not unheard of. I have missed mine before. I'd consider yourself fertile, but keep testing just to be sure.

    Good luck!

  2. I'm not sure, but I'd say it's possibly a false positive. I suggest charting your bbts so you can tell what's going on with your body at all times. If you did "O" (unlikely) since you just got off your period, there wasn't enough time for the egg to develop. Vitex does not affect OPK's.

  3. From reading this page it seems to be you shouldn't take it first thing in the morning.

"Q: What time of day should I test?

A: The best time to test is 2 p.m., or as close as possible. Anytime between noon and 8 p.m. is fine, first morning urine is not recommended. The reason for this is that most women experience a surge in the morning, but it can take 4 hours for it to show up in your urine.

Make sure to test at about the same time every day."

    Maybe that was the reason.
