Is it possible to get a parrot spayed or neutered?

This is a serious question. I have never heard of it but my daughter asked me and I couldn't answer her because I had no idea...It seems impossibe but who knows...Thanks!!!

Yes, but wildly expensive micro surgery.

Yes, it is possible to alter the reproductive ability of birds.  BUT there are only a very few avian veterinarians that have the skill needed to successfully do the surgery.  We are lucky to have Dr Brian Speer here in CA.  He has performed two surgeries on birds that were chronic egg layers for me.  He also performs this on wild birds like pigeons that he rehabs.  He then releases them.
