Question:

Is it possible to get a phd at one university then go to an even better university?

im a grade 12 candian student from ontario hoping to take political science at brock university (in niagra) and was wondering if it were then possibly after taking political science.. go to a presitgous uni in the US such as brown taking another political course there?

  1. Once you have a Ph.D., you can continue your studies.  There are post-doctoral programs.  Also, you could pursue a second Ph.D. in a different program.  For example, if your Ph.D. is in Political Philosophy, then you could probably pursue a second Ph.D. in International Relations.  Although, honestly, I'd recommend getting your master's degree at the first school, then just getting your Ph.D. at Brown or wherever you decide to go.  Having a second Ph.D. generally doesn't help you much career-wise.
