Is it possible to get a picture back after accidentally deleting it off the camera?

I have a Nikon D40 and I doubt it is possible, but I just got it & want to make sure.

If you had a ton of money, you could probably send the memory card to a forensics lab.  Other than that, you'd screwed.

edit:  I forgot.  There are computer programs now designed to do what you are asking.
