Is it possible to get a referred tooth pain after scrapping & filling a tooth in order to put a crown in?

Today my Dentist chipped and scrapped by tooth to make it small & temporary fill it in order for a crown to be put in next week, but now my other teeth mostly top right wusdom seem to have a sharp pain and are sensative, only when drinking fluids or if when i can feel air, is this normal? my Dentist did say it will be sensative for a while & was given a mini toothpaste but am wondering how long this lasts? thanks.

  1. It will last a few days at most, ifnot go back to your dr and have it seen to


  2. you will get pain & sensitivity on that tooth that has been scraped  for the crown. If a temporary crown is fitted, you will not have pain or sensitivity. Try desensitizing tooth paste.

  3. well sensitivity might have resulted due to exposure od dentinal tubules while tooth grinding and desensitizing paste which he  has prescribed will work to counteract that sensitivity so use it as per his or her instructionsns  and tooth will become  normal in few days  after reperative dentine is  formed !
