Yes, but you should be seeing a orthopedic doctor or sports medicine doctor. Our Anesthesiologist routinely inject steroid into different parts of the back for relief. Some people may benefit from just exercising, stretching, and losing weight.

Yes, there are different types of steriods or cortisone shots that a doctor can give. It is only suggested if they back pain is long term and nothing esle has worked. I would not suugest going that route until almost all else has failed.
