Is it possible to get a sponsorship for a working visa in Australia?

I've a Business Administration Degree with 10 years experience in the Accounting Field. I'm currently live in Sri Lanka & hope to find a job offer from Australia to get working visa.

  1. Yeah it is possible to do this. You'd first need to find an employer in Australia that will sponsor you, directly through the company.

    You're lucky that with the skills shortage in Australia, you'll most likely find someone that'll employ you.


  2. It is possible, but difficult... You would just have to approach companies direct, as if you were applying for a job. Tell them what your intentions are and be upfront with them. My fiance tried to get sponsored by companies, the main problem, was that immigration will not let certain companies sponsor if they don't fit their crazy criteria. The companies were willing to sponsor him, but they had problems with immigration for some reason... If you have trouble, I would say it would be better to go for a skilled working visa and go from there. Good luck!!

An employer must apply for working visas, you cannot.  To get a job as accountant in Australia or other country, you must know the accounting standards of that country, its tax laws, etc.  There is no shortage of accountants in Australia, and the Australian job applicants will know Australian accounting rules, regulations & standards.
