Is it possible to get a suntan on a cloudy day?

I want to go to the beach today but it's cloudy out. The UV rating says 9,does that mean you can still get tan despite the clouds?

Very much so.... You have to be super careful! It won't feel like you are getting anything at all, so you might stay out longer.... then , that night you will be burned! Have fun.

Yes, the UV rays go right through the clouds.  Some of the worst sunburns are received by people on cloudy days.  You don't even feel like you are getting burned.  Days like these can be very dangerous...Wear lots of good sunblock...
