I am 16 years old, and told I have immense talent, but I do not have a producer or anything to make my own CD. So what should i do, would they look at me differently being I am younger, so they wouldn't expect a full CD? also I am interested in being a more Pop/RnB/Urban artist.

Could you send a demo of a cover to your song, or does it have to be your own material?

  1. Immense talent or no, you have several negatives that are putting you WAY at the end of the line.  This is while OTHER people have MANY positives that are putting them in the FRONT of the line.  Do you have a really good priovate teacher, and a GREAT amount of professional-caliber performing experience?  Because everybody AHEAD of you in line DOES.  Do not believe those sappy *just go for it* responses - it is easy to say that to you, but true constructive advice takes more knowledge.  DO not believe the bios that artist have their people put out - because they make it sound like they just *got discovered*.  HAH!  It takes a whole TEAM to build most singers into even local or area recognition - and many, many years of work.  Are you SURE that you are talented enough to invest all that time, and a HUGE amount of money (your own, sweeties - nobody is going to bankroll an unknown) to MAYBE become even slightly noticed?

Get a LEGITIMATE professional assessment before you go any farther - friends tell yo one thing, but the truth in the industry is quite another.  OUCH - but true.

  2. You can do it for them in person, and that might impress them more because they get the real deal, not a digitized verson of you.

You don't need a producer to make a CD. You could borrow a recorder or you could just use a video camera to record yourself and put it on a cd. If they put it into a cd player, they won't see the picture but they will hear you sing.

    Best of Luck.

  3. I would have to say yes. I think if you sing them a song, then you would have a good chance, and it probably would be better if you use your own material. If not, you could always record yourself singing and burn a CD on the computer and send it in. that's what I'd do. I hope this helped.
