  1. If you contact the passport office they should be able to tell you if they can issue a temporary passport.  Scroll to the bottom of the link & the numbers are there:

    If you're not currently in Ireland you'll have to contact your nearest Irish Embassy for more details.

  2. I have never heard of getting a temp. passport, do you mean a visa?

    i'd say just get an a regular irish passport.

  3. There is no such thing as a temporary Irish passport.

  4. Years ago when I lost my Irish passport in Greece I was given what the embassy called a "temporary travel documet" which I was able to use to get back to Ireland.

    Only given in exceptional, emergency situations.

    I honestly would not waste my money on a temporary pass port..

    You are going to pay in the neighborhood of $60 for one, where as a real passport, will cost you around $100 and is good for 10 years....

    Believe me, You are going to need it, sooner than you think...
