Is it possible to get accommodation in Dublin at a reasonable price for Paddy's Weekend?

We've been looking for somewhere nice that's central but the prices hotels are charging are unreal! They seem to have quadrupled their prices for that weekend! We don't want to be stuck way out of town either cuz getting around will be a nightmare!! Any suggestions?

Hmmm ..... things are quite tight in Dublin for that day. Keep your eye across last minute releases which come and go with this directory which has direct connections to the majority of Dublin hotels and accommodation places.

There has to be at least one cancellation - but hotels are notorius in high demand periods of putting their rates up.

In practice, they tend to pannick 24-48 hours before and release large quantities of rooms back onto the market. I hope you get something befoe then, but at least this is your "fall back strategy"

Oh God not more tourists! I'm gonna fly to France for Paddys day this year. Every year u can't f**king move for tourists. Look, I don't care if ur great-great-great-great-great-granny was from Cork I still need to do my grocery shopping.

just in response to the first answer, you can only stay in Trinity during the summer, not during term time

I know you want central but this may be impossible or VERY expensive. You could try the Ibis Hotel

it's near the Red Cow Luas stop so getting into town will be easy, and if you're going back late at night a taxi will only take a few minutes to get there

I stayed at Pebble Mill at Malhide, very nice B&B, bus nearby.Cheap and private place set on 4 acres.

I began looking in feb at this date and found everything had been booked up or like you had quadrupled in price.Try the Trinity college to see if they can accommodate you. I spent time on my brothers stag do in the halls of residence there during the summer, accommodation great,breakfast excellent ...but unsure whether they can let you in for Paddys day...Good luck.

Best I could find was Browns on Gardiner street, close to the centre of Dublin. That's £50 per night based on 2 people sharing.

Hey gud luck in finding a hotel! I have stayed in the charles Stewart guesthouse, its in the centre of dublin on Parnell Square, i also stayed at the northstar Hotel, its abiut a 10min walk to the centre. I read lots of bad reviews on this hotel before i went, but it wasnt as bad as people wer making out! we found everything great! again gud luk and have a great weekend if u get there! x

when I'm in dublin I usally stay at O'Sheas hotel on Grafton st. I don't believe there prices would change that much as the host a lot of out of town construction workers and it's a pretty good hotel.
