Also, I know there's no 'easy' subjects to get an A in but what are the ones you are most likely to get an A in, basically, yeah what are the easiest ones to get an A in apart from music/art and what are the hardest? Thanks

  1. It really depends on the student.

I was hoping for an A1 in the leaving in biology and I feel I would have got it only I was having a hard time during the exams. I'm happy with my A2 though :)

I think biology really suited me as a subject. I had a real interest in it and, while you do need to have a bit of an understanding of what you're studying, for the most part you'll do well my just learning lots of stuff off. That said, there were parts of the course I had difficulties with, but overall they didn't make much difference.

If you are interested in a science subject and you're able to learn off loadds of stuff, I think it would be a good choice. If you're more interested in the practical side of things, or more interested in the calculations, I think you should consider chemistry or physics

Edit: I think it's around now that newspapers start publishing which subjects the most As were achieved in, so I'd keep an eye out for them.

  2. Biology isnt hard exactly. But its not easy to get an A in It because theres so much to learn. Its not hard stuff just a huge amount of stuff. I remember in school (and in college) there was always more to learn in biology than all the other subjects put together.

Applied maths is easy. Its easier than normal maths. It looks difficult if you look at the paper but once your learning it, its so easy. I helped a girl with her applied maths last year and she got an A1. Of the students who did it 25% got an A1.

  3. Art isn't actually easy to get an A in. Think again.

Studies show that 80% of LC students this year got an A in Russian.

It also depends on the student whether you study or not.

Home Ec is quite hard too, and Ag Science is really really easy.

  4. First off, Music and Art aren't 'easy' or everyone would do them and be guaranteed to get As. You have to be good at them and work hard.

Secondly, it depends on what your strengths are. A friend of mine got As in Hons Physics and Maths, considered the 2 hardest subjects, but failed Accounting and barely passed English.

If you like Biology, have a good teacher and work hard, it is possible to get an A. If this is a subject you are good at, consider taking Social & Scientific, Geography or Agricultural Science, as there is some overlap in the syllabus that might suit you and reduce your workload.

Some students specialise in Business or Science subjects because they find that area most interesting, and having an interest in the subject makes it an awful lot easier to study, learn off and do well in.
