Is it possible to get credit from my highschool, For AP courses that im studying independently for?

Im planning on taking some AP exams next year that are not offered at my school, and im studying on my own for it. Is it possible to get it listed on my schedule as independent study and will I be able to get credit for the courses with the extra weight and all? Please if anyone has done this before let me know
