Nope. The only way you could get a discounted ticket is by using normal discount cards or procedures, the best is travelling off peak as a group of 4 where each person would then recieve a 50% discount (4 for 2), then 3 person group (3 for 2).  From London to Brighton is a commuter service.

The only other way you might possibly get a cheaper ticket than a Cheap Day Return or Single, is to purchase the Southern Rover Ticket off the Internet, this must be brought 7 days in advance and restricts you to travelling on Southern ONLY and when you could use the trains.

just a warning about using the trainline site - it charges - around £2.50 for card payment and 50p or similar for collecting tickets.

i advise to use the nationalexpress east coast site instead, much more straight forward, with a "lowest fare finder" function, and no charges.

If you go to the ticket office at Victoria Station you can buy advance purchase tickets from London  Victoria to Brighton starting from £3 for a single; as far as I am aware these discounted tickets are only available from the operator Southern, and not via the usual advance rail ticket sites.

The journey is only 60 miles (taking 50 minutes from Victoria) so of course the regular tickets bought for travel at the time of use are not really very expensive and you get a third off with a railcard. www.epicsavings.co.uk
