Is it possible to get into a chemical engineering course if you do not have the required highers from school?

I have currently took highers in my 6th year they were as follows:

Physics

Chemistry

Latin

Classics

English

I think I may only achieve ABB or BBB (not the brightest person)

However the entry requirements into a ChemEng Degree is ABBB for Bachelors or AAABB for Masters (must achieve these highers within 5th year) For 6th year however the requirements are one grade higher; therefore it would be ABBBC.

Unfortunately I'll be lucky to even aquire ABB (from school) - I'm thinking of going to college to resit the Highers I will deffinately need such as Higher Maths and Physics (I think I have failed Physics - although my deffinate A in Higher Chemistry Gives Me A Head Start)

So what I'm really asking is: I have ABB I need to go to college to resit Some more Highers If I Get The Highers Will I be accepted into that course?

  1. It used to be that if you retook a course, you got the better grade recorded on your transcript. So go retake the courses until you get the grade you want.  But if you don't study, you'll be spending alot of money retaking courses.  Try taking one hard course each semester with other "easy" courses that still apply to your degree.  That will give you more time to concentrate on the hard course like Physics or Calculus.  College is tough but well worth it.  Leave the girls and the beer alone and study like crazy.  You'll make it.  Good luck
