  1. no. gauging from an 18 to a 14 doesn't hurt. you can jump right up when you're that small.

edit*** let me change my answer. you can get a to a 16 with a gun, but after that, they pierce you with a needle, and then you can jump up to a 00 with a needle right on the spot at a piercing studio.

  2. do it urself...just find sumthin thats the right size and ram it through...bloods half the fun

  3. Should be possible. You must ask the shops specialized in piercing ears and they should have the different sizes.

  4. Absolutely. Go to a piercing studio instead of a mall shop type place. It will probably be more expensive. I had my ears pierced at 12 gauge. At a pro place, they will do it with a needle which actually hurts less and is less damaging than a gun. You will probably end up with captive bed rings instead of crappy studs from claires.

Call ahead first and research your shop.

Afterwards, take good care of your new piercings with regular washing (I used Dr Bronner soap), sea salt soaks and rubbing them with jojoba oil. I like the saline spay "h2ocean" too.

Bodyartforms.com is a great site to buy quality jewelry but they also have a helpful, active forum. I have provided some links below. I don't work for them.

I would also like to mention that I was pierced at 12g and wore 12g for over a year and within one week of taking them out, my holes were too small for my 12g plugs. I think closing time differs for everybody.

    Good luck!

  5. Yes but there will be a little more pain and they will take longer to heal.
