What?  You mean generally?  Sure it is.  But it is not possible to get pregnant while you are on your period.

The botom line is, it is POSSIBLE to become pregnant at ANY time of your cycle, althought the odds go up towards ovulation and then down again.

There is normally only five days in a month where you're fertile, but these five days could be at any point, it could be during your period but that is very very rare. You're norally fertile 16-12 days before your period is due.

The catholic's don't believe in contraception, so I was educated in school about times in the month to have s*x so that you don't get fertile, and we were always told before and after your period, and since then I've been trying for a baby and have read lots on how to chart your fertile times.

It's unlikely, but possible. Ovulation (when the egg is released from the ovary) can be difficult to predict because your menstrual cycle doesn't necessarily run like clockwork from month to month. If your cycle is shorter than usual, or if you bleed for extra days, you may ovulate during or shortly after your period. If the release of the egg (which can live for one to three days) coincides with the lingering live sperm (which can live in your body for five to seven days after unprotected s*x), you can conceive. The bottom line: If you are not using contraception, it's a pot luck.
