Question:

Is it possible to get race horse history?

I was telling one of my non-horsey friends about my beloved Bailey and explaining he is an ex-racer when she asked 'Has he ever won any races then?'. Obviously I have no idea (I doubt he was any good because he is with me now!) but I just wondered is there any way to trace a ex-racers history? It would be interesting to know if he did actually win or get placed. I'm in England. Thanks all! x

  1. In North America we tattoo the inside of the upper lip. You just take the upper lip and turn it up to see the underside of it, with that # you can find everything out about a horse. Now I am not sure if you'll do that in England, but it is worth checking. And if not, you will have a way to identify each individual horse. I know this, I just don't know how.

A horse person from there will have to tell you.

  2. I dont know SORRY.

  3. Try checking the www.racingpost.co.uk website as they have a search facility. If he was registered as a racing horse then you'll find all of his past achievements there.

Hope this helps and good luck!

  5. Well, in order to find out the history of your horse, you should know his or her registered name. If the horse is not registered, then it will just be overly hard to find anything unless you ask the previous owner.

But if your horse is a registered Thoroughbred, then I will be able to search him or her on pedigreequery.com where the sight has every registered Thoroughbred out there.

So I will search the name "Bailey" and see what I get okay :]

    ...

Alright, I found a horse from Ireland with the name Bailey. It says he was foaled February 21, 2005. His sire's name is Caption Rio and his dam's name is Baileys Cream. And it looks as if it says he has had 4wins, 0places, and 11shows. Its hard to understand. But his great, great, great, grandma is Native Dancer. :] That's pretty cool.

So I don't know if that is your horse or not but I will provide you the link and you may see for yourself.

Now this is the link for the horse that might be yours...

And this is the one of all the other "Bailey's" I found...

    Hope I helped!
