Is it possible to get rid of a headache without using medicine?

  1. Yes, it is possible, but then it would depend on your definition of "medicine." Often when an alternative therapy produces a "cure" it comes to be referred to as medicine.

    One of my favorite things to try for a headache is pure essential oil of Lavender. Just dab it "neat" (undiluted) on the area of pain - across the brow, at the temples or at the base of the neck. Just smelling the oil out of the bottle is sometimes enough.

    If it is a sinus headache, I like to put the oil across the sinus cavities, but that means closing my eyes for a few minutes as the fumes will really irritate my eyes.

    When lavender alone doesn't fix it (I can tell in less than a minute) I add a drop of Peppermint oil. (Not under the eyes!) This takes the edge off most any headache for me, at least enough that I can deal with it until I find the underlying source.


  2. What type of headache?

    Minor headaches can be in some cases be cure by acupressure.

    1: On either hand on the fleshy muscle between the fore finger and the thumb, if you massage this point, by getting the the fore finger and the thumb of the opposite hand and massaging both sides until the pain goes.

    2: If it's a migraine headache? The points to massage are on the mandibles (the hinges where the upper jawbone is connected to the lower jawbone) if you place your two fingers at the base of the lower molars and open and close your mouth you will find the hinge these points will be very tender, massage them until the tenderness goes.

    If the migraine does not go, then you have not found the correct points. keep trying because I know this works, the earlier you start with the migraine the quicker it goes.good luck.

    Once you're able to determined what the possible cause of the headache is than you address the cause and the headache goes.

    Some of the causes are:

    Constipation: - increase your intake of water.  Consume more fruits and vegetable - those that will supply you with extra fibers.  Cabbage is good.

    Stress: - try to relax.  Go to sleep.

    Dehydration:-  Increase your intake of water to a max. of 10 glasses and go to sleep.

    Inadequate sleep:- Go to sleep.  Sleep until you awake naturally.


  4. when i used to get headaches i visualized a sheet of ice going horizontally thru the inside of my head, then visualized it melting and that used to cure my headaches.  also i heard the herb fever few works

  5. Most of them can be using emo-free, tapping on pressure points.

  6. Well, depending on what is causing it.  Have somebody squeeze your head for you for say 30 seconds, and slowly take their hands away from you head.  One heel of the hand on your forehead, one on the back of your head, and sqeeeezzze.  Really it works....

    Stay hydrated

    Sleep

    Take a cool shower

    Stay in a dark place

  8. Yep. If it's not a heavy one, that is.

    Drinking lots of water helps.

    A very simple technique is to breathe in one nostril, then out the other.

    Keep it up for a while.

    It usually works with light headaches.
