It depends on what kind of "sleeping pills" you're talking about.  There are such things as over-the-counter sleep aids.  Just check the aisle of the grocery for remedies, or the pharmacy aisle for nighttime stuff.

Effectiveness varies.  If you want something that will put you out no matter what, then what's over-the-counter may not be enough.  Though if it's that bad for you, maybe you should see a doctor just since what ails you should not go untreated.

If your talking about horse tranquilizers on the other hand...
