Is it possible to get tattooed in light grey?

Or does it have to be that awful strong black? I want to get the back of my neck tattooed but i want it to be subtle. Also, is there another place on the body for a tattoo that is subtle but not s**y (i.e. butt, lower back)?

  1. For the first question, absolutely.  How will vary from artist to artist, but by way of example the clouds and water on my work is done in gray.  Just let them know what you're looking for and you should be good to go.

For the second, I'll let another answer as that's a fairly subjective thing.

  2. Yes you can get that color ink'd. Depending on your skin tone is whether or not you should though. When you go to get your tattoo the artist should inform you what colors to stay away from depending on your tone.

  3. Yes it is. I have a light grey tattoo on my right forearm. The best ink to use is a Japanese ink: http://www.makkurosumi.com/ this company is especially good for greys.

  4. Yes...you can get tattooed in a light gray, look at all the portrait tattoos and soft gray scales that are walking out  of shops.

Honestly for the second part of you question you want something subtle but you are getting one on the back of your neck? I do not mean to be rude at all but just keep in mind if you ever have short hair or put it up...it will be seen. Maybe try for your legs...? You can always wear pants and shoes to cover it all up. That is completely a personal preference thought. I started getting tattooed heavily on my legs first and when time came for a job interview I just wore pants and some nice dress shoes..but if you wear skirts/sandals then your are kinda sol, jwf.
