Is it possible to get your Drivers License without taking Drivers Ed?

  4. I live in Illinois too.

    If you are under 18 there is a Driver's Ed requirement.  As well as a certain required number of hours driven while you have your permit.

    If you are over 18 all you need to do is take written, vision, and hearing tests and then a driving test and you get your license.

    There are some cases when you don't need to fulfill a Driver's Ed requirement when you're under 18, but you need to contact a DMV to find out how that works.  I believe it's only possible if you have a very special case in which you can't take D. Ed.
