Question:

Is it possible to go from no score to a 600 FIFO score in 1 year?

ive had alot of stuff fall off my credit report in the last few months which in turn caused me to go from a 652 fico to no fico score at all i still have four things on my report but they are mainly unpaid medical bills for a grand total of $1200 dollars i just obtained a secured credit card today and in order for them to switch it to unsecured i need to make all payment on time and achieve a 600 fico score in 12 months so im asking is this even possible any help or feedback would be greatly appreciated thanks

  1. No magic pill when dealing with the great Fico!  Just pay your bills on time use your available credit wisely and don't use more than 30% of your available limit.  Your score will go up!


  2. It's absolutely possible. As long as you keep your payments on time, there's no reason why not. If you miss EVEN ONE payment, though, there goes your chance to make that 600. :)

    Seriously - that's about how long it takes for most of the small negatives to be eliminated - like inquiries on the account, etc. I'd be careful about making too many credit card applications, too - that will ding your credit score.

    If you have a good income to offset the negatives, then your score should improve even faster.
