I am talking about a high school grad going to Europe for 2+ months, maybe even getting a job while over there.

  1. Sure!  I don't know about a job unless you actually get paid by an American school through work study.  You can study abroad in so many different countries.  Just talk to your counselor at the college you are planning to attend.

  2. if you're in college, look into study abroad

  3. if   it is in  the summer

  4. Anything is possible.

  5. You can get a student visa easily - - as long as you are a student.

  6. Sure it is possible for an highschool grad to go to Europe.

US citizens (and Canadians, Aussies, Kiwis,...) can travel to most countries in Europe visa-free for a stay of up to 3 months. For longer stay s/he needs a residency permit/special immigration visa for which s/he has to apply at the embassy before she leaves home. Note: These 3 visa-free months are not per country, this is for the whole of  the Schengen Area!

It is not possible for non-EU citizens to legally work in the EU without a work permit. Work permits are usually only given to highly skilled people (Bachelor is minimum qualification) or to students enrolled at a university in the country where they want to work. Exceptions are special exchange programs, but most of them are very limited. Canadians, Aussies and Kiwis also have the option of a Working Holiday Visa.

The biggest problem is thus how to finance the stay, if you cannot work you need to live of your savings and Europe is a very expensive place right now. For 3 months travelling in Europe one would need approx. 10,000 USD just in order to survive (buying food and staying at hostel dorms or camping sites).

My personal recommendation is to look into studying abroad, either doing a university degree in Europe or spending a semester or your sophomore year of college at a European university.

  7. i dont get it?

are u asking if its physically possible for u to drive ur car to an airport and go there? then yes?

or are u asking about ur age?

    yes u can go

or are u asking about being there for a long time?

its summer (THE TIME WHEN U GET 3 MONTHS OF NO SCHOOl) so unless ur goin to summer school then u can go.
