Question:

Is it possible to go to medical school in india after doing liberal arts studies in the united states?help me!

i was just wondering if it was possible and if it was a good idea. i am still studing and i just considered it as a possibility but im not sure if it is possible since india is very complex in studies. is it a good idea or will i never be able to do it, i am an above average student, if it makes a difference, (and indian) so i understand the situations.

  1. It is difficult to get into Indian Medical institutions for foreign nationals. The medical field requires the student to complete 10+2 and then undertake a common entrance exam for which students prepare for over a year and still dont clear it. Apart from that, medical in India is so tough that anything below 85%-90% is simply not accepted or in other words they do not find a seat in good medical institutions. Being a foreign national, you may have to spend almost a yaer in India for preparing for the common entrance exam and then apply to colleges if you clear with flying colors. This wasn't to break your confidence, but to enlighten you on what preparations you might have to do.


  2. english,physics,chemistry & biology are mandatory subjects at

    XII standard. to be eligible for applying to medical school / college.in case you want to pursue alternative medicine, you may to do your own spade work.

  3. I don't think that as a foreign citizen you're entitled to do the entrance exams. There must be somme reserved places. You please get information from the Indian embassy. If you didn't have a scientific knowledge, then it will be an uphill task.
