I am contemplating grad school in archaeology, but have a bachelors in accounting. Is it possible to get into grad school for a subject you do not hold an undergrad degree for?

  1. Yes, as long as you took the necessary background courses.  Sometimes there aren't any (such as going for an MBA or MLS) but science, math, and engineering require some background in the subject, since the masters and PhD consist of advanced coursework designed to build on what you should already know.

Find an archeology grad program you're interested in and see what their admissions requirements are.  You can always take a few courses as a non-degree student somewhere to make up for what you might be missing.
