I am 14 and in 9th grade now, but i've recently taken quite a liking to Ireland. Most of my family is irish but I have only a few relatives there. I think it would be fantastic to move to Ireland when I graduate highschool and go to an art college in Ireland, while flying home to Canada for the holidays. I'm just wondering if this is possible, and if there is anything I should do to stary preparing now. I'm getting a job very soon and I plan to save up for it.

  1. yes it is possible, I am American and I go to college in Dublin, I've been here for a year and a half, it's great, I'm learning way more then I ever would have learned in a school at home, I'm learning how to live and work with people from other countries and what it takes to adapt to living in a new culture.

I don't know how much college costs in Canada but for me it's a lot cheaper to go to school over here, thats the main reason I'm here.

you'll have to get a student visa to study here but that's no problem, because your Canadian it will almost be automatic, you just go to the immigration office once your in the country and show them a letter of acceptance from your school and your all set, although if you still have family in Ireland you might be able to apply for citizenship which if you can do you should do it, it will make the whole thing easier and cheaper, if your an Irish citizen college is close to free.

to apply for citizenship ether one of your parents or one of your grandparents needs to have been born in Ireland.

let me know if you have any other questions.

I hope it all works out for you.
