This is entirely theoretically speaking; Is it possible to cut ones arm off and to have it grow back, assuming supply of blood, infection, etc wasn't an issue?

  1. Not today NO

  2. no. but i know there is something that makes your arteries grow back when you need surgury or somehting. a whole arem only grows back at this time on Heroes

  3. Intense research is being performed on zebra fish as they have the ability to regenerate fins.  Findings in this research may lead us to ways of inducing the right growth factors for limb generation, but this is probably 100 years off.  As for now we cannot regenerate our limbs, though we do generate the bottom 1/3 of our livers if they are damaged.

  4. Theoretically yes and with out any fancy medicine or machines. Humans have exactly the same brain structures as reptiles and amphibians which automatically regrow lost limbs/appendages. The human regeneration system will automatically to a certain extent regrow a lost limb because some growth has required the fitting of new artificial limbs. What stops/limits the growth is the human habit of avoiding pain signals. If you used pain signals as I do to fix trauma injuries it should be possible to regrow limbs.
