its possible to make some sort of heat run power source..but the danger is that of you cool down the volcano to much you can make a plug of stone and make a more dangerous volcano.

Oh my, now wouldn't that be wonderful? I hope that it will be possible someday soon. Then, we could harness the energy that tornados, hurricanes, and earthquakes use. That way we would not need any more nuclear facilities that Mr. McCain just proposed.

It's done already in Iceland. It's called geothermal energy, and in certain places it may be the best energy solution. However it is a very local solution and in most places tends to be cost prohibitive.

Realize that there are different types of volcanoes out there - the explosive ones aren't all that practical because they are explosive. However there are many non-explosive ones that have been used to harvest energy.

yes it is very possible for me... but you should think of the danger too... for me again...if you will harvest energy you should go inside the volcano but what if the volcano erupted while you were there then you'll die... this hasn't been proven (maybe?? i don't know!!) cause no one is crazy enough to go inside a volcano over the past centuries

Nothing is everlasting.  Just remember that.

Volcanoes themselves aren't the best place to get the heat because of the hazard, but volcanic regions have high heat flow and are good areas for geothermal energy plants.  There are many places that do this already.  Many more could be constructed.

The problem with geothermal electricity production for large scale use is that it needs to be located where the earth conditions are useful, where the shallow earth gets hot quickly.  Most places do not meet this condition.  maybe eventually we will develop the technology to make it economical to use the internal heat of the earth more widely.  It already is being used for individual heating and cooling of buildings and that is a technology that maybe we ought to be using more.
