my ATI HD 2400 pro chugs a bit when playing new games like vegas and oblivion and i wanted to know if you can have 2 cards working at the same time, like say using 1 as your main card, in this case my 2400, and then also adding the video ram from my integrated ATI radeon xpress 200.

  1. With onboard graphics your memory on your onboard video is being given to it from your system ram.  If you dedicate 512mb of ram to your graphics then you have actually given up some of the system ram for only doing graphics.

  2. WHat you propose in the bottom have of the question is impossible. No you cant take ram from onboard to use with an installed card.

However, if your motherboard supports ATI's Crossfire you can purchase a second video card that matches your first one and use ATI's crossfire mode(similar to nvidia's SLI) which offloads some of the game to the second video card.
