Question:

Is it possible to have TWO false BFP in one day?

I took a early HPT this afternoon, I thought I saw a faint faint . Later it was much darker. I didn't trust it so I bought another one. It took 20 min for the control line to appear (must not have held my pee enough) and I THINK i see a faint faint . But I'm only 10 dpo and none were done with FMU. Both came after the 10 min test time. Is it possible to get TWO false in one day from tests bought at different stores with different lot numbers??

  1. YES!!!! THIS HAPPENED TO MY FRIEND...TURNS OUT SHE WAS PREGGO...SHE JUST DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH HORMONE BUILT UP AT THE TIME...(TOO EARLY)

YOU ARE MORE LIKELY TO HAVE A FALSE NEG, THAN A FALSE POS!!!

    GET TO YOUR OB NOW!!!!!!

    IF SO, CONGRATS!!!!

  2. Wait until your missed period. Some women are able to test early, 4-5 days before missed period but not everyone is so lucky. I was 11 days late when I tested positive with my daughter, testing negative at 9 days late.

  3. You could be getting an incorrect result. You are not supposed to go with a result after 10 minutes. If you are pregnant the result should show up fairly quick or withen the 10 minutes. If you are unsure go and see your doctor for a blood test or take another test with your FMU and only read the results within the 10 minute period. Good Luck.

  4. Wait a day or two. Test in the morning the result will appear in two mins or less. Dont read the reuts after 5 mins. If you have a neg and it goes pos after 5 mins it could be a evaporaton line

  5. If its after 10 minutes that the line came up than you have to ignore the line as its probably a false reading after that time. That's what all pregnancy tests iv taken have said.

  6. yes, especially if you went pass the 10 min time line. this is why i always use a cup to ensure there is enough pee. i would take another test, good luck. sending some baby dust your way xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  7. Anything that appears after the allotted 10 minutes is not a positive. You're most likely seeing an 'evaporation line' which is when the urine dries up and leaves a reside which looks like a line. Check out photos of Evap Lines at http://www.peeonastick.com

Now, remember that this doesn't mean you're NOT pregnant, but simply that the timescale suggests you got legitimate negatives. Be sure to test tomorrow morning with FMU. Good luck!

  8. well yes, mostly false negatives are because your hormone levels aren't very high, so it's quite possible the tests just aren't detecting it, wait a few days and then retest

  9. Ten mins is too long to wait for an answer.  Retest again with FMU and only wait the recommended amount of time after that time you can't trust the result.  Also the earlier you are testing before missed period the more inaccurate they are.  Happy Baby Dust to All :)

  10. If you read the HPTs after the designated test time (such as 10 minutes) you can see what is called an "evaporation line" which does NOT mean you are pg.  What you are probably seeing is just the ink where the line would have been if your test was positive.

    I advise the following:

    1)  Wait at least until 14 dpo.  At least 70 percent of positive HPTs don't show up until 14 dpo, and many not until later than that.  So wait another 4 days to test again.

    2) ALWAYS use FMU when doing HPTs.  Your FMU is more concentrated and will have higher levels of hcg, the hormone the test is detecting.

    3)  Throw out the test at the end of the testing timeframe, such as 10 minutes. Don't be tempted to dig it out of the trash after 10 minutes, because then its not valid.

Good luck!  Please take prenatal vitamins every single day when TTC!

    Baby dust!
