  1. Well I'm not sure. I'll be doing my student teaching in the Spring 09. According to the university, we are not able to work. I do however plan to find something during the weekends. It sucks just thinking that I won't be able to work for three months!

  2. In CA, technically, it is possible. If you are able to get an emergency teaching credential and a job, then the university will usually work with you so that your paid teaching position satisfies student teaching.  That said, it has become impossible in most districts to get hired on an emergency credential.  The cost of living in most of CA is so high that families with children are moving elsewhere.  With declining enrollment, districts just aren't that desperate for teachers anymore.

  3. well u can teach with a probationary teaching certificate which is essentially the same thing i suppose.  you are earning your student teaching hours, being monitoring by a mentor or veteran teacher and getting paid for teaching full time all at the same time.

  4. Not in PA. Before you can teach, you have to have your certification... and to get your certification you have to have successfully completed all your coursework- including student teaching.
